Exterior Motorized Screens

Retractable motorized screens for shade, privacy, and insect protection.

Motorized screens disappear into a slim housing at the top of your porch or opening, then roll down on demand to give you shade, insect protection, privacy, or full weather protection. They're the most flexible of the shade-and-curtain family.

We install Phantom, Progressive, and equivalent commercial-grade systems with sun and wind sensors, remote control, and smart-home integration.

What makes these work in Texas.

Smooth motorized operation

Somfy and equivalent motors with remote, wall switch, or app control.

Multiple screen types

Insect mesh, shade mesh (10–90% opacity), solid vinyl, or clear vinyl.

Wind and sun sensors

Auto-retract in high wind to protect the screen. Auto-deploy in direct sun.

Questions we get about exterior motorized screens

How are motorized screens different from patio curtains?

Screens roll up into a slim 4–6 inch housing when retracted — nearly invisible. Patio curtains use exposed straps or rollers. Screens are typically higher-spec (insect mesh, solar mesh, clear vinyl options) and more architectural. Curtains are typically fabric-forward and traditional.

Can motorized screens seal against insects?

Yes — insect-rated mesh screens with tight side channels keep mosquitoes and flying insects out. Combined with a ceiling, screens turn an open porch into a usable outdoor room year-round.
